Language detection runs once per conversation and the result is cached. Subsequent messages in the same thread use the cached language, eliminating redundant detection calls and keeping responses fast.

Cultural Date/Time Formats

ChatGenius uses culturally appropriate date and time formats for each language. DD/MM/YYYY for European languages, year-month-day for East Asian languages, and 12/24-hour time per regional convention.

The detected language is cached per-conversation.
Does the booking flow work in other languages?+
Yes. When a customer enters the booking flow, a language lock persists through all 8 booking states. Dates like "14 novembre" (French), "11月14日" (Japanese), or "14 ноября" (Russian) are correctly interpreted without the system switching languages mid-conversation.
How accurate is the language detection?+
Very accurate. GPT-5's language identification is reliable for messages of 3+ words. The character-set fallback handles edge cases like single-word messages in non-Latin scripts. Once detected, the language is cached for the conversation, maintaining the correct language throughout.
Can additional languages be added?+
The 13 supported languages cover the vast majority of global Instagram and Facebook users. Adding new languages requires updating the LanguageDetector configuration and testing the booking flow, date parsing, and cultural formatting. Contact us if you need a specific language not listed.
